The desire to keep doing my homework was born out of standing next to one photographer too many who didn’t know the underlying context of what they were shooting, and this I felt, restricted what kind of images that they were shooting. Their focus was on a dog – not the Tibetan Mastiff, and so I will often spend an evening with Google and Amazon Prime books, and see how differently they make me see.
I’ve begun to work on multiple portfolios at the same time. I want to go into detail about my subject matter, film choices and equipment but I’d rather have the images up when I can make a visual reference. Right now I cannot say, “see.”
I shoot often and because I shoot film my site will never have the immediacy of rapid updates. I’ve been adding new images about every six weeks or so; I usually post a quick FYI on Facebook and my Google pages when I do to let everyone know about them. You can also read my blog on Blogger which is a Google format that I recently discovered. I selected a template and a format which is a quick snapshot of the last few blog posts. I thought that it would save time from scrolling through the archives here.
I don’t know about anyone else but I think it’s extremely cool to look at stats and see that people in the UK, Spain and Hong Kong has visited – yesterday Detroit, today the world; cool, very cool.
