I just got over a really nasty cold and I finally feel great but I’m also behind. There’s an important photography contest quickly approaching that I want to enter with images that are still internal because of my health and the weather (we didn’t get the snow but it has been frigid).
Recently someone made a statement out loud that I’m pretty sure that we all know – you can be a great artist but if no one knows that you exist what’s the point? Prior to this obvious epiphany I had decided to enter a couple of photo contests. The first one was nothing big but it sounded cool. My goal was to be seen and not necessarily win. Lesson 1 – enter to win. Lesson 2 – avoid contests who send you confirmation emails with type O’s. Lesson 3 – go big or go home ($40 is usually the standard rate for big or for small contests).
So the major once a year photo contest is ending on January 31 and I don’t have the images that I want to enter – yet. I’m confident that I will get them but it would be nice to work without nagging stress and deadlines, you know – just once.
