I shoot as a lomographer so my rules are my rules. Normally the only adjustments that I will make to the negative is to scan, resize, and remove all dust spots. I think that images posted with dust spots is lazy. I've gotten sideways glances about my images as if I've done a great deal of "tweaking" to them. I really haven't. If I add some tone in Photoshop to me its no different than if I were standing in the darkroom over a tray of selenium with a wet print.
Having said that I find the image that I posted here today really interesting because it came out more like a painting than a photograph. I'll leave the subject and the meaning open to your interpretation. If you'd like to feedback as to what you think it is and what you like or do not like about it I would be interested to hear.
