At the 11th hour my little gold Holga let me down. Hard! It did not produce a single image from my Wednesday night shoot. I followed the learned rules, I loaded the camera properly (Ilford Pan F+) and I timed the images just under 2 minutes. This formula worked for my other cameras on Wednesday night, but not the gold one that has always worked well.
Holga cameras are not for the Type A personality - which I am not - or at least I don't think so. With difficulty I controlled the meltdown simmering beneath the surface – but just barely. When I opened up my tomato red 135bc tlr I found that I had broken the film in camera. Not only did I break the film I exposed it to light, and to my surprise every image that came out of the spool developed without light leaks.
It matters not how much experience you have or how much you’ve used the same camera over and over again; just know that at some point the Holga will test your love.
I've posted a few new images in portfolio Autre and bctlr. I've also began a discussion group at my page on 500PX.
