At Summer's End

Labor day and the city is quiet; at the moment. State fairs, jazz festivals and cooler weather are all the earmarks that the summer is over. I know that I've thoroughly enjoyed mine. I'm at an event as you are reading this taking pictures (naturally) and enjoying the food and the festivities.

Here are a few images that were taken last year at our local state fair. Revolog had dropped some new film so I ordered about ten rolls of the Tesla BW (that continues to be sold out) and I couldn't have been more pleased. The film was new to me and so was my lomo LCA+ and I was excited to try out both.

I had no idea what I would come home with. The film is completely unpredictable and no two frames are alike. You literally will never know when lightning will strike. The effect is dramatic so it is important to remember that the focus shifts from the actual subject for just a moment.

Enjoy your holiday and be safe! I'll be back next Monday with a longer read and hopefully some interesting images. Click to view larger; galleries and slide shows are cropped.
