I don't usually like to shoot, develop and post all in the same day but yesterday I did just that. So, tell me, what is your super power? Yesterday was the Marche du Nain Rouge and it was a blast! I had so much fun. Last year I went like me, a photographer in comfy sweats and I was asked a few times why did I want to take their picture? This year I dressed for the occasion.
My ensemble was a mix of goth with a touch of the mystical. My very cool hat will arrive today from Amazon. Anyway this year's event was twice the size as last year's; probably due to the end of Covid, and it was so well done. The music, the entertainment, the costumes!
Marche du Nain Rouge is an annual tradition held near the Spring Equinox. It's a celebration reminiscent of Mardi Gras, of Detroit pride, spring, and the banishing of the Nain du Rouge which is a mythical creature that brings bad luck.
For this event I took my Lomo LCA Wide and loaded it with various films from Lomo Purple (the new formula) to Kodak and of course Cinestill 800. The images are half frame without the divider so they converge. They remind me of reality meeting the multiverse. I still have two rolls to develop but these images made me smile. The vibe was so good yesterday and the Nain du Rouge did not show.
I've added more images to the No Rules gallery. I highly recommend viewing on a large screen and also to click through them because they're panorama images. Cheers!
